A Love Story Years in the Making: Mark & Jordain’s Journey Back to Forever

Some love stories begin with a grand gesture. Others begin quietly—years before anyone realizes they’ve already started. For Mark and Jordain, their story traces back to the halls of middle school and high school in the years following Hurricane Katrina. They attended the same schools, crossing paths without ever knowing that one day their lives would become forever connected. It wasn’t until November 2016 that fate took its first clear step forward. Mark sent a simple message on Facebook, telling Jordain she was beautiful and that he wanted to get to know her. Though life had other plans at the time and their connection faded, the story was far from over.

In 2018, they found their way back to one another and shared their very first date over sushi. Both were shy, a little nervous, and unsure of what the future would hold—but there was something special in that moment. Something meaningful had begun.

While their relationship didn’t immediately blossom into forever, they never truly lost touch. Through the highs and lows of life, their bond remained. Mark stayed steady through some of Jordain’s most difficult seasons, never giving up on the possibility of them. During that same time, Jordain was praying for growth, healing, and for God to prepare her for the kind of love she knew she deserved. Then came 2023—a year of new beginnings.

After years of finding their way back to one another, they decided it was time to do things differently. There was just one condition: if Jordain truly wanted him, she had to be the one to ask. So on December 31, 2023, after a New Orleans Pelicans game, she did exactly that. She asked Mark to be her boyfriend. Without hesitation, he said yes. From that day forward, they became inseparable.

In September 2024, Mark proposed, turning years of patience and persistence into a promise for forever. Then in November 2025, surrounded by the love of family and friends, they said “I do.” Their journey was never conventional or easy—but that’s what makes it beautiful. Every delay, every lesson, every season apart helped shape the love they now share. Mark and Jordain’s story is a reminder that true love is rooted in patience, growth, faith, and the undeniable truth that what is meant for you will always find its way back.
